Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my Parma Log stored?
- Signed out: on your iPhone, and through your own iCloud if it’s on. You can check in Settings › Sync & Reset.
- Signed in: in your ParmaMaster account. It syncs there instead of through iCloud.
What happens to my log when I create an account or sign in?
Your parmas move into your account. Anything already saved in the signed-out log on your iPhone (and in iCloud) is added to the account’s log, and ParmaMaster only clears the iCloud copy once your account has them. Along the way:
- if the same pub is rated the same way on both sides, you keep one copy, not two;
- if the same pub has different scores, the newest rating becomes the current one and the other becomes a re-run in that pub’s history.
If the move can’t finish, your parmas stay safe on your iPhone and ParmaMaster tries again.
What happens to my log when I sign out?
Your parmas are saved in your account and removed from that iPhone. They come back when you sign in again.
How do I move my log to a new iPhone?
- If you have an account, sign in on the new iPhone and your Parma Log comes back.
- If you don’t, sign into iCloud with the same Apple Account on the new iPhone and your Parma Log syncs across.
What does “Rate Again” do?
If you already have a log for a pub, ParmaMaster doesn’t make a second one. It says the venue is already logged and offers Rate Again, and the new score is saved in that pub’s History as a re-run.
Why does ParmaMaster ask for my location?
To suggest nearby pubs when you log a parma and, if you turn them on, to remind you to log one when you visit a pub. Your location stays on your iPhone.
Do I need an account?
No. Logging and rating parmas works without one. An account adds friends and group sessions, and keeps your Parma Log in your account.
Who can see my ratings?
Only your friends, and only what you switch on in Edit Profile. Your notes are never shared.
I forgot my password.
In Settings › Account & Privacy, choose Sign In, enter your email and tap Forgot Password?
How do I block someone?
Open their profile, tap ⋯ and choose Block. They aren’t told. They can’t see your profile or rankings, or send you requests. You can unblock people in Settings › Account & Privacy › Blocked People.
I’m under 16. Can I still use ParmaMaster?
Yes. You keep the whole app and your Parma Log. Accounts, friends, group sessions and sharing are for people aged 16 and over, so they’re turned off.
ParmaMaster uses the age range on your Apple Account, set by you or your parent or guardian. If it’s wrong, change it in Settings › your name › Personal Information › Age Range for Apps, then open Settings › Account & Privacy in ParmaMaster and tap Check Again. We can’t change your age for you.
If you already had an account, it stays as it is while you’re signed in. If you sign out, you can’t sign back in while friends are turned off.
What is a strike?
After a report, if we warn you about something you shared, or remove it, that counts as a strike. Each strike lasts 90 days. Three at once suspends your account. Only you can see your strikes, and you never see who reported you.
I got an “Account Activity Warning”. What now?
It means you’ve received a strike. Tap OK, then open Settings › Account Status to see what was reported, why, and when the strike expires.
Can I appeal a strike?
Yes. Open the strike in Account Status and tap Appeal. You can add a note. You get one appeal per strike, within 30 days of it being given. We read every appeal and reply on the same page. If we overturn it, the strike is removed, and anything we removed is put back unless you’ve changed it since.
My account is suspended. What can I do?
You can’t sign in while it’s suspended, and nobody can see your profile or ratings. If the suspension isn’t lifted, your account and everything in it is deleted 30 days after it started. If you think we got it wrong, email support.parmamaster@fergohamish.com and we’ll take another look. You can also choose Continue Without an Account to keep logging parmas on your iPhone. Your account’s parmas come off that iPhone but stay in your account, and come back if the suspension is lifted.
What do the numbers at the top of Insights mean?
The Pubs visited card counts the different pubs in your log. Under it, it shows how many parmas you’ve rated. Re-runs of the same pub add to your rated count, not to your pubs visited.
Do I need an account to use Insights?
No. Insights work with or without a profile, and they aren’t sent outside of ParmaMaster.
I deleted a parma by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for 30 days. Open Settings › Deleted Items and tap Restore to bring a log back with its ratings, notes and photo. Only logs deleted on that iPhone show up there, and after 30 days they’re gone for good. If you’ve logged the same pub again since, delete that log first, then restore the old one.
How do I wipe the app and start again?
If you’re signed out, go to Settings › Sync & Reset and choose Reset App Data. It deletes your parmas, photos and settings, and it can’t be undone.
If you’re signed in, you won’t see Reset App Data, because your log lives in your account and a reset would wipe it. Instead you can delete individual logs from your Parma Log, or delete your whole account.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings › Account & Privacy › Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, shared rankings, photos and friendships, and your Parma Log from your account and from your iPhone. Ratings you gave in group sessions stay with those groups, shown as “Former member” without your name or photos. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Want to make a report, or you’ve already made one?
If you’d like to make a report, you’ll have to do so in the app. If you’re having difficulty logging in, you can try resetting your password or contacting us.
If you’ve already made a report, you can’t check on it here. Once we’ve come to a conclusion about your report, you’ll get an email with the result. You can send up to 10 reports per day, about anyone you like. You can either report a user’s entire profile, or a rating they’ve made.
